Write it!

There are many sites out there that will give you the rules of journalling.
There is only one thing you need to know.

Write what you want.

Things you need:
Paper
Something to write with
Thoughts

Do you want to draw?  Do you want to glue pictures to a page?  Do you want to write down what happened to you today?  A phone number or a list?

What did he think was going to happen when he put his tooth under the pillow?

Strange and wonderful things happen every day if you pay attention.

I see friends who I have not seen in years and we ask each other, "What's new?" Most often the reply is, "Nothing."

Has nothing happened?  Really?

Did you see something interesting on TV?  Did a co-worker or customer do something stupid?

Write it down!

“Keep a notebook. Travel with it, eat with it, sleep with it. Slap into it every stray thought that flutters up in your brain. Cheap paper is less perishable than gray matter, and lead pencil markings endure longer than memory.” — Jack London
